    In politics Mr. Leap is identified with the Republican party and he has held the office of tax collector for 33 years. He is a member of the Catholic Church and is an excellent citizen of Cambria County.




    Rev. Francis Sasvary is a representative and highly esteemed citizen of Portage, where he is pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was born at Eger, Hungary, Dec. 28, 1887, and is a son of Adelbert and Helen (Tolvay) Sasvary.
    Adelbert Sasvary lives retired at Eger, Hungary, where he has spent his entire life. During his active career he served as clerk of courts and held other offices. His wife, who was born in 1862, died in 1917. They had the following children: Julius, was killed while serving during the World War in Poland in 1914; Irene and Anna, both at home; Rev. Francis, the subject of this sketch; Julemeo, deceased; Helen, at home; Ladislaus. A World War veteran, lives at home; and Eugene, at home.
    Rev. Francis Sasvary received his early education in the schools of Eger and in 1911 was ordained after having graduated from the University of Temesvar. In 1913 he came to the United States and located in New York, where he remained until 1923. He has since served as pastor of St. John the Baptist Church at Portage, where he has a wide circle of friends and acquaintances.




    Burt Plummer, who lives retired at Jamestown, is a substantial and highly respected citizen of Cambria County. He was born in Summerhill Township, Cambria County, in 1865, the son of Michael and Millie Plummer, both deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Plummer are buried at Wilmore.
    Burt Plummer grew up on his father's farm and attended the district schools. He followed mining for many years and about 1915 became interested in the hotel business at Jamestown, where he actively engaged until his retirement in 1925. Mr. Plummer is a stockholder in the Keystone Grocery Company, a chain of groceries with headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pa., and owns several pieces of property in Jamestown.
