Company. He resigned his position as general bookkeeper, Oct. 20, 1922, to accept his present position as managing director of the Grand Amusement Company. Mr. Conrad is in complete charge of the Nemo and Grand theatres. A new theatre is also under construction in Johnstown. Francis Henry Conrad is a veteran of the World war and a highly esteemed young business man of Johnstown, where he is a special agent for the Equitable Life Insurance Company. He was born in this city, Oct. 4, 1893, and is the son of Frank J. and Anna Mary (Burkhardt) Conrad. Frank J. Conrad, who lives retired in Johnstown, is a native of this city. He was born in February, 1855, and is a son of Michael and Revecca (Cristey) Conrad. Michael Conrad was an engineer of the Pennsylvania Railroad for several years and died when he was 36 years of age. His widow, was born in 1828, died May 4, 1924. Both are buried at Geistown, Pa. Frank J. Conrad, their son began life as a steel worker in the employ of the Cambria Steel Company and was later a boiler inspector with the Lorain Steel Company. He was a Democrat and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Knights of St. George. His wife was born in Johnstown, in October, 1854. To Frank J. and Anna Mary (Burkhardt) Conrad eight children were born, as follows: John J., was born in 1880, married Ann Trout, lives in Johnstown; Mary Elizabeth, born in 1882, married Robert N. Haws, a broker, lives in Johnstown; Agens Regina, born in 1884, married Joseph D. Blythe, lives, in Johnstown; Annie Marie, born in 1886, married Willam Kirchner, lives in Johnstown; Gertrude C., |
