Mr. Becher had been ailing for several months, but worked up until that Friday. Since that time he had not been at his employment, but his condition was not considered dangerous, and his death came as a shock to his many friends. The deceased was a native of Germany, but with his parents came to America when he was quite young, and had always resided in this vicinity, he had for many years been employed by the Cambria Steel Company, and for a considerable length of time had been leverman at No. 1 Rail Mill. Frederick Becher was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Becher, with whom he resided, and was thirty-nine years and one month old. Besides his parents he is survived by a sister- Mrs. John L. Tross of No. 516 Franklin Street and a step-sister- Mrs. Henry Myers of Akron, O. At the time of the Great Flood the Becher family resided in the First Ward and their home was swept away, but all escaped uninjured. Funeral services will be held at the late residence Wednesday afternoon at 2 oclock. Rev. Hugo R. Erdmann, pastor of the German Lutheran Church, of which the deceased was a member, will officiate. Interment will be made in Sandyvale Cemetery. |
