Remarks:   ROBBINS---Morton H., 92, Graystone Court, Johnstown, died May 16, 2021 at Conemaugh Hospital. Born January 27, 1929, in Johnstown, son of the late Cora (Wissinger) Robbins Brennan and late Hugh Robbins. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Doris (Plummer) Robbins, brother, Ronald Robbins and step-father, Robert Brennan. Survived by children, J. Scott (Xuan), San Diego, CA; Richard (Eleanor), Somerset; Kimberly (John) Dolan, Indiana, PA and Mark (Sandra) Robbins, Pembroke Pines, FL; grandchildren Linhda (Mark) Reis; Robin (Marie) Street; Jennifer (Seth Volle) Robbins; Lisa (Luke) Norwood; Christopher (Andrea) Robbins; Lee (Marcus Roberson) Robbins; David (Tara) Dolan, Robert (Nicole) Dolan; Elizabeth (Joseph) D’Imperio; Zachary (Fiancee Kelsey Heil) Robbins; and Matthew Robbins. Also survived by several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and dear friend, Barbara Nero. Mort was a 1946 graduate of Johnstown High School. He served 2 years in the U.S. Navy and attended Pitt-Johnstown. He started work at the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat Publishing Co. in 1944 and retired from the Tribune as comptroller in 1994. He was also treasurer of WJAC and President of Winston Corporation. Mr. Robbins served on several boards including the Geistown Borough Council, treasurer of the Richland Area School Board, Johnstown Chamber of Commerce, United Way and YMCA. Mort enjoyed many activities including traveling and trailer camping, sailing at Prince Gallitzin, golfing, hunting, fishing and was an avid pinochle player. After retirement, he and Doris traveled the U.S. in their motorhome during the winter months and resided at Glendale Year-round Community, Patton in the summer. He was a devoted husband, father and grandparent enjoying the family gatherings and many celebrations through the years. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, 2310 Bedford St., Johnstown.
