| MRS. SUSAN RAGER. The subject of these lines died at her home in Jackson Township yesterday afternoon. She was about 80 years old, and, having been stricken with pneumonia, her enfeebled constitution was unable to withstand the ravages of the disease. In young womanhood, the deceased united in marriage with John Rager, who died some twenty-three years ago. To this union, fifteen children were born, of whom the following survive: Martin, of Jackson Township; Linda, wife of Henry Harker, of Lilly; Lucinda, wife of Henry Stiffler, of near East Freedom; Henry, who lives on the homestead; Wesley, of Morrellville; Jane, wife of J. S. Shoemaker, of Morrellville; Alice, wife of Jacob Bracken, of Jackson Township; Kate, wife of S. T. Burkhart, of Morrellville; Will, of Jackson Township; Emma, wife of Ed. Kimmell, of Ebensburg, and Priscilla, who is at home. Mrs. Rager was one of the oldest residents of Jackson, having spent nearly all of her long life in that township, and she was known and universally respected as a good neighbor and kind and loving mother. All her adult life she was a member of the Lutheran Church, and, after the funeral services to-morrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, her remains will be interred in the church cemetery in Jackson. |
