MRS. CATHERINE CROFT.
Catherine, widow of George Croft, aged 90 years, died last night at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. August Fey, 522 Sherman street, Fifth Ward. Mrs. Croft was a resident of this city for 66 years. She was the daughter of George Nusuck and was born in Germany in November, 1832. She came to America in 1855 and was married here in the following year to George Croft by the late Rev. Carl Kress, then the pastor of Zion's congregation. Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Croft, two of whom survive. They are William Croft, of C street, Morrellville, and Catherine, wife of August Fey. Mrs. Croft also is survived by seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was an active member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Ladies' Aid Society.
The funeral will take place at the late residence at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, services to be conducted by the Rev. Dr. E. A. Tappert, pastor of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. |
