Mrs. Anastacia Costlow died at 5:45 o'clock last evening at the residence of her daughter, Mrss. E. J. Wahl, 1712 Twentieth avenue, Altoona, of senility. She was born Oct 2, 1831, in Croyle Township, Cambria county, being a daughter of John and Margaret Kern. She was married 53 years ago to John Costlow, who died ten years ago. She has been a resident of Altoona five years. Mrs. Costlow was one of the few remaining persons in this section of the State baptized by the celebrated Prince Gallitzin, the pioneer priest of the Alleghenies. She was a member of St. John's Church, and is survived by four daughters and two sons, as follows; Clement, of Lilly; Mrs. Frank Topper, of Lovett; Mrs. E. J. Thompson, of Newry; William H., Mrs. Stanley Noonan and Mrs. E. J. Wahl, of Altoona. She is also survived by twin brothers, Abraham Kern, of Newry, and Isaac, of Cresson, together with 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral arrangements have not been completed and will be announced later. Interment will be made in St. Patrick's Cemetery at Newry.
