Samuel D. Hummel, Native of Somerset County, Dies in Maryland.
Samuel D. Hummel, brother of Squire Joseph R. Hummel, of Dale, died yesterday at his home at Grantsville, Md., at the age of sixty-nine years. The deceased was a son of the late David and Mary Hummel, of Shade Township, Somerset County. His early days were spent in and around old Ashtola. His widow, who was Mollie Tate, of Osceola, Pa., and eight sons and four daughters survive. Samuel D. Hummel is also survived by these brothers and sisters: Squire J. R. Hummel, Joshua Hummel, of Hooversville; Mrs. Solomon Jones, of Sandy Lake, Pa., and Mrs. Mary Shaffer, of Dale. The funeral will take place to-morrow at Grantsville. |
