NICKTOWN--Two women were killed and two others injured in a two-car accident at 9:20 a.m. Friday at Route 553 and St. Paul Street in this northwestern Cambria County community.

Mary Amadei, 84, and Catherine Kirsch, 85, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Cambria County Coroner Dennis Kwiatkowski. Both women died as a result of chest injuries, he said. Amadei was a driver and Kirsch was a passenger in the car, he said. Another passenger, Imogene McCombie, 69, of Nicktown, was listed in critical condition Friday at Memorial Medical Center.

The police said the car collided with another car driven by Annette Farabaugh, 29, of Carrolltown. The police said Farabaugh was treated at Miners Hospital.
