John Allen Rager

After an illness lasting several years, John Allen Rager died yesterday at his home, 232 Grape avenue, Nineteenth Ward, in his 69th year. He was an employee of the Cambria Steel Company for a period of 40 years, but was compelled to relinquish his duties when his health began to fail. His death was due to a complication of diseases. The Rev. S.H. Ralston, pastor of the Barron-avenue United Brethren Church, will conduct the funeral services at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Rager home, interment to be made in Grandview Cemetery.

John Allen Rager was born in Jackson Township, this county, being a son of the late Philip and Elizabeth Paul Rager. He was a brother of Mrs. George Constable, of Ohio street; George, of Salina, Kan.; Mrs. Wendell Croyle, of South Fork; Mrs. Rachel Myers, of Adams Township, and Jerry, of Jackson Township. J.A. Rager and Miss Emily Junkins were married in Johnstown by the Rev. Mr. Anstadt, of the Lutheran Church. Mrs. Rager survives her husband, with two daughters, six grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. The daughters are Mrs. Perry Benson, of this city, and Mrs. Alfred Rogers, of near Seward. Mr. Rager was a charter member of the Barron-avenue U.B. Church.
