| CAMBRIAN DIES, AGED NINETY-FOUR Jacob Krug of Barr Township passed away Saturday evening; Buried Monday. HE BORE HIS YEARS WELL. Ebensburg, May 17. Another of Cambria County pioneer residents was claimed in death Saturday evening (sic-May 12), about 10 o'clock when Jacob Krug, aged 94 years, passed away at the home of his son, Harry, in Barr township, near Nicktown, from deceases incedent to old age. The remains were interred Monday morning after services at the Catholic Church at Nicktown. Jacob was born in Germany but came to Cambria County when but seven years of age, with his parents. He spent practically his entire life in Barr township, where he owned a farm. For the past 6 or 7 years he has been incapacitated for working but was able to be up and around until 3 or 4 weeks ago, reads without glasses and having all his senses unimpaired except that of hearing. Jacob is survived by these children: George and Frank from Ebensburg, Harry of Barr Township; Elizabeth, wife of Emmett Milvehill of Ebensburg, and 22 grandchildren. One daughter is dead. [Mary Haupt, who left two children] Mr. Krug had spent the winter in Ebensburg at his son Frank's, who is now working in New Kensington, and could not be notified of his father's death in time to return to Cambria county for the funeral. |
