| Portage Young Lady Expired When About to Be Married Portage, Jan. 19. - With Justice of the Peace J. C. Green standing at her bedside ready to perform the wedding ceremony which would have made her the bride of James Daley, Miss Margaret LeNora Helsel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Helsel, died January 13th at her home here. Her death was due to appendicitis. The young lady is survived by her father, mother; one brother, Homer Helsel, of Portage, and two sisters - Mrs. J. H. Bates, of Portage, and Annie Becker, of Johnstown. Her funeral was largely attended, interment being made in Mt. Union Cemetery. Beautiful floral offerings were from Mr. and Mrs. Homer Helsel, Annie Becker, Mrs. J. H. Bates, James Daley, Mrs. J. W. Sharrar, and Mrs. Mary McKee and daughter from Johnstown. The pallbearers were Harry Glacken, William Singer, Jacob Eichelberger, Edward Eichelberger, Charles Eichelberger, and John Smith. |
