Mrs. John Howell Dead

Widow of Former Johnstowner Expired Tuesday Morning in
Pittsburg

Stricken with the same disease which took away her husband, a bronchial affection, just four months ago, Mrs. Ann Howell, died Tuesday morning at 1:15 o'clock at the residence of her son-in-law, Charles W. Horrell, No. 326 Orchard street, Knoxville, Pittsburg, in her seventy-fifth year.

The deceased was a daughter of Evan Jones, a native of Wales who settled in Cambria township, this county, in 1825. He expired there in 1853. Ann Jones was born in Cambria township and was married at Ebensburg fifty years ago to John Howell. The Howell family resided in Johnstown for several years after the Great Flood of 1889, moving from there to Somerset and later to Pittsburg. John Howell, who was a well known carpenter, expired at the Horrell residence on November 3d of last year.

Funeral services over the remains of Mrs. Ann Howell were held in Knoxville at 8 o'clock Wednesday evening and the remains were brought to this place yesterday morning. Interment was made in Lloyd Cemetery on the arrival of the branch train at 10 o'clock.

Mrs. Howell is survived by four daughters: Maria, wife of W. H. Tudor of Indianapolis; Martha, wife of Cyrus Hubbard of New York City; Mary, wife of Henry G. Muller of Pittsburg and Urania, wife of Charles W. Horrell of
Knoxville. Robert E. Jones, of Ebensburg, is the deceased's only brother.
