Mrs. Julia (Donaldson) Ribblett, widow of Frederick Ribblett, died of general debility at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. David E. Phillips, at Tanneryville, West Taylor Township, between 12 and 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon, aged 86 years. The funeral party will leave the Phillips residence at 1:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon for the Olive Branch United Evangelical Church, at Tanneryville, of which Mrs. Ribblett was a member. Services will be conducted there at 3 o'clock, in charge of the pastor, Rev. Harvey B. Seese, with interment in the Benshoff Hill Cemetery.
Julia Donaldson was born in Bedford County in 1832 and was a daughter of Henry and Mary (Richey) Donaldson. She and Frederick Ribblett were married in this county in 1854, and went to housekeeping in West Taylor Township. Frederick Ribblett was a veteran of the Civil War and died here some 30 years ago. Mrs. Ribblett is survived by four children, 27 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Her children are; Nancy Jane, widow of Johnson McLaughlin, Dale; Mary Elizabeth, wife of David F. Phillips, West Taylor Township; John W. Ribblett, West Taylor Township, and Harry F. Ribblett, Jackson Township. Four children are deceased, as follows; Susan, wife of Samuel McDowell; William Ribblett, and two dying in infancy. |
