| REED - At her residence in the 5th Ward, Johnstown, Oct. 21, 1873. Mrs. Sarah B. Reed, wife of Daniel Reed, and daughter of GEORGE YONKER, aged 37 years, 11 months, and 12 days. It is rarely we are called upon to chronicle the demise of father and daughter occurring upon the same day. It is one of the saddest sights that a sympathizing heart can be called to look upon, to see the remains of the venerable father and his middle-aged daughter lying side by side in the chill embrace of death, at the former home of Mr. Yonker. To the sorrowing relatives who are thus doubly afflicted we tender our sincere condolence, and may He who tempers the wind to the shorn lamb comfort them in this their hour of sorrow. The double funeral will take place from the late residence of Mr. Yonker at 10:00 o'clock tomorrow to proceed to the Evangelical Lutheran Church, and from thence to Sandy Vale cemetery. |
