FUNERAL OF MICHAEL HELSEL
Services to be Held at Deceased's Home at 4 O'clock To-morrow
The funeral of Michael Helsel, who died at his home, No. 422 Bedford street, Fourth Ward, yesterday afternoon, will take place at 4 o'clock to-morrow afternoon, when the Rev. Dr. Thomas H. Woodling, pastor of the Franklin-street M. E. Church, will conduct the obsequies. Interment will be made in Grand-View Cemetery. Michael Helsel was born at Shade Furnace, Somerset County in 1834. His parents moved to Johnstown soon aftwer his birth and Michael Helsel has since resided here. The deceased was a brother of Hiram Helsel, of this city; Henry, of McKeesport; Jerry, of Missouri; Margaret Murty, of this city, and Elizabeth Crouse, of Richland Township. Michael Helsel, who was a cooper by trade and worked in several of the shhok shops around Johnstown many years ago, was married in 1857 to Miss Margaret Sherman, who survives him with the following children: Priscilla, wife of Seth E. Phillips; Walter, of the Eight Ward; Bracken, of Dale Borough; Sanford, of the firm of Helsel & Marks, lacksmiths,a nd Misses Jennie and Jessie Helsel, at home. The latter is a stenographer for Attorney Robert E. Crisswell. Besides his sons and daughters, Mr. Helsel is survived by several grandchildren. |
