Josiah Pearson

Josiah Pearson, a veteran of the Civil War, died last Saturday night at his home in Windber, Somerset County, aged about fifty-six years. He had been sick for a long time with stomach trouble.

Mr. Pearson was born and reared in Bedford County and had worked as a cabinet maker for J. E. Washburn, at Pleasantville, for fifteen years. After locating in Windber he had been employed as night watchman for the Berwind-White Coal Mining Company. The deceased is survived by his wife, whose maiden name was Miss Julia Hann, and five sons and three daughters.

The remains were taken overland on Monday to Pleasantville, Bedford County, where interment was made in the afternoon.
