ELLSWORTH WARSING IS CRUSHED TO DEATH

Young Miner Caught Under Fall of Rock in Rosedale During Absence of Partner

SERVED IN PHILIPPINES

Ellsworth Warsing, aged 34 years, was killed by a fall of rock while at work in Benshoff's mine in Rosedale between 9 and 10 o'clock this morning. Warsing and Joseph Hildebrand were working together in the same heading when they decided they would have to have a heavier hammer with which to drill some rock. Hildebrand left the mine shortly after 9 o'clock to get the hammer and when he returned he found Warsing dead under a lot of rock that had fallen during his absence. The Benshoff mine was opened about three years ago and this is the first fatality to occur there. The body was turned over to Undertaker Henderson.

The deceased was a son of Samuel Warsing, of 311 Fairfield avenue, Morrellville, and was a brother of John Warsing, of Rosedale, with whom he made his home since his marriage to Mss Mary King here last summer. Albert Warsing, of Morrellville, Luella, wife of Michael Kyle, of Strayer street, Morrellville, and Pearl, wife of Henry Baldwin, of Detroit, also survive. His mother, Mrs. Mary Peterson Warsing, is dead.

Ellsworth Warsing was formerly a private in the United States Army and served five years in the Philippines, returning to America several years ago. Funeral arrangements will be published tomorrow.
