EMANUEL LING.
Emanuel Ling, aged 71 years, died of paralysis at the Ling home, 788 Coleman avenue, Seventeenth Ward, at 6:45 o'clock this morning. He was taken suddenly ill yesterday morning. The funeral will take place on Monday afternoon, the services to be held at the Ling residence in charge of the Rev. Albert K. Travis, pastor of the Grove-avenue Methodist Episcopal Church, of which Mr. Ling was a member. Burial will be made in Grandview Cemetery.
The deceased was born near Buckstown, Somerset County, on October 29, 1846, and was a son of Joseph and Sarah Ling. In 1862 he removed to Buffalo Mills, Bedford County, coming to Johnstown 11 years ago. In May 1870, Emanual Ling and Miss Louise Hunt were married at the Michael Hunt home in Buffalo Mills. Mrs. Ling's death occurred in Moxham about seven years ago. The deceased is survived by four sons, four daughters, seven grandchildren, a great-grandchild, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Koontz, of Mann's Choice, and by a brother, Ellsworth Ling, of Shade Township, Somerset County. His sons and daughters are Charles Ling, of the First Ward; Edward Ling, of Glendale, this State; Harry A. Ling of Oakland, this State; Leroy C. Ling, of Highland avenue; Miss Florence Ling, a teacher in the Village-street school; Blanche, wife of Charles B. Shomaker, of Cumberland, Md., and the Misses E. Grace and Ethel V. Ling, both at home. Emanuel Ling was a member of the Buffalo Mills Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows. |
