ROSE - Joseph Roy, 82, 143 Hostetler Road, died Jan. 28, 1993, at home. Born Dec. 28, 1910 in Johnstown, son of late Howard and Otta (Byers) Rose. Preceded in death by wife, former Sarah E. Cummins; and two brothers and two sisters. Survived by following children: William, married to former Marlene Derfler, Ashland, Ohio; Joseph Roy Jr., Sedona, Ariz.; Shirley Dorian, Columbus, Ohio; and Judy, wife of Steve Burger, Gillett, Pa.; also 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Brother of David Rose, Ashland, Ohio. Retired as engineer with Pennsylvania Railroad. Very active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at The Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc. Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, the Rev. Ray Streets. Interment, Richland Cemetery. |
