YOST - In Carroll township. on Tuesday, Dec.14th, at 5 o'clock a.m., of general debility, Jacob Yost Sr., aged 81 years and 10 days.
Deceased was born in Chambersburg, Franklin County, and came to what is now known as Cambria Township, in this county in the year 1803. A few years subsequent he removed to Carroll Township and during his long eventful and industrious life accumulated considerable property. Elizabeth Holder, whom our readers will remember as having been murdered a few miles from this place a number of years ago, was the sister of Mr. Yost. In our next issue we hope to be able to give a short sketch of the life of the deceased, who was one of the earliest settlers of Northern Cambria. |
