(Different obituary; same newspaper; same date)

Mr. Samuel M. Pringle died at the residence of one of his brothers in Summerhill Township, on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1881, aged about fifty-two years. Mr. Pringle was born on the same farm on which he died, and was a son of the late venerable Martin Pringle, who preceded him across the dark river a few years ago. At an early age the subject of this sketch served an apprenticeship to the carpenter trade with David Spielman, of Wilmore. He afterward acted as foreman of repairs on the Pennsylvania Railroad for several years, when he moved to the West and settled, we think, in Kansas, where he resided until the death of his wife, perhaps nine or ten years ago, when he returned again, to his native county. He was employed at frequent intervals in the store of D. W. Coulter, Esq., in Franklin Borough, and at last February election was chosen a member of Council of that municipality, but was compelled to resign on account of failing health. He was, for a number of years previous to his death, a consistent member of the U. B. Church, and, being strongly attached to and an energetic worker in the cause of religion, and of a kind and sociable disposition, he gained many warm friends who sincerely mourn his death. He leaves three children, two daughters and one son.
