Professionally Mr. Pentrack is a member of the National Funeral Directors' Association and the Central Pennsylvania Funeral Directors' Association. He is well known in his native city as one of its leading and representative young men.




    William H. Raab is well and favorably known among the leading business men of Johnstown, where he is identified with William H. Raab & Son, commercial printers. He was born in this city, Aug. 16, 1875, and is the son of Henry and Catherine (Hahn) Raab.
    Henry Raab, deceased, was a veteran of the Civil war. He was born in Germany, as was his wife, and they emigrated to America with their parents when they were very young. Henry Raab was educated in Johnstown and learned the moulder's trade, being in the employ of the Cambria Steel Company for many years. He served during the Civil war and is deceased. Mr. Raab was a Democrat, a member of the Lutheran Church, and the Grand Army of the Republic. To Mr. and Mrs. Henry Raab the following children were born: Elizabeth, the widow of Charles A. Zipp, lives in Johnstown; George V., deceased; Louis, deceased; Susan, J.V., and Henry, who live in Johnstown; August, lives in Cleveland, Ohio; William H., the subject of this sketch; Frank, lives at Altoona, Pa.; Walter, lives in Johnstown and one child died in infancy.
    William H. Raab was educated in the public schools of Johnstown, and at an early age entered the employ of H. M. Benshoff, bookbinder and printer. He later was identified with the Tribune, and in 1903 established the William H. Raab & Bro. Company, bookbinders and printers, his brother, George V., being a member of the firm. This business was conducted in the old Rose Building, on the corner of Vine and Franklin streets, and in 1910 was moved to the present location, Woolf Building, Franklin Street. In 1923 Mr. Raab took his son, Victor Raab, into the business, and it has since been known as William H. Raab & Son. They are commercial bookbinders and printers and conduct a well equipped printing plant.
    In 1897 Mr. Raab was united in marriage with Miss Emma VonAlt, the daughter of John and Mary VonAlt. Mr. VonAlt, a native of
