Cresson, April 16 -- Mrs. Rose Mitchell, aged 77, one of the oldest inhabitants of the community, died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Grover Schwaderer, of East Sixth Street, following an illness of complications incident to advanced age. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning from St. Francis Xavier church with Rev. James Graven officiating. Interment will be made in St. Aloysius cemetery. The deceased was born at Foot-of-Five in 1846, and has continually made her home in this city. Her parents, Hugh and Mary McTamany, were with the original settlers of Cresson. In addition to Mrs. Schwaderer, another daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Butterfield, of New York city, survives.
William M. Reed, aged 83, of east of Gallitzin, died at the family residence yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock of complications incident to his advanced age. He is survived by the following sons and daughters: James, Joseph, William, Jr., Fred, all of the Bennington district; Mrs. Amanda Murray, Mrs. Martha Kent, Mrs. John Biddle, Mrs. Charles Davenport; of Bakerton; Mrs. Mollie Benden and Mrs. William Simmers, both of Glen White, and Mrs. Harriet Moore, of Johnstown. Funeral services will be held at the Gallitzin M. E. church with interment in Union cemetery, Summit.
