During his last illness, Father Gallitzin, as a memento offered his friend and physician, Dr. Aristides Roderigue, his choice between the religuary already mentioned and a gold watch said to have belonged to his father. Roderigue chose the religuary, which is yet cherished as a sacred heirloom by one of his descendants. The watch was purchased at the sale of Gallitzin's personal property by John C. O'Neill, who sold it to his uncle, "Charley" O'Neill. The latter sold the watch to the late 'Squire Joseph Miller, of Wilmore, who bequeathed it to his grandson, Guy Blairsdell, who prizes it so highly that it is not for sale even at a price far in excess of its intrinsic value.
