since devoted his time to the insurance and real estate business. He is also extensively interested in the coal business. Mr. Schnabel was president of the Conemaugh and Franklin Water Company for several years. He is treasurer and a director of the George Pearce & Sons Coal Company, a director and largest owner of the Sanitary Dairy Company, president of the Sanitary Ice and Cold storage Company, and vice president and director of the First National Bank of East Conemaugh. He is one of the largest real estate owners in Johnstown, owner of a large office building on Locust Street, and many residences, and is active in the Chamber of Commerce and all civic affairs. Dr. William E. Grove, one of Johnstown's capable physicians and surgeons, who specializes in the treatment of diseases of the ear, nose and throat, is a veteran of the World war. He was born in this city, Aug. 23, 1888, and is the son of William B. and Mary J. (Wood) Grove. William B. Grove is a highly esteemed citizen of Johnstown, where he has been identified with the Bethlehem Steel Company for a number of years. Both he and his wife are natives of Pennsylvania and are the parents of four children: William E., the subject of this sketch; James B., deceased; Norman Ross, deceased; and Robert, lives in Johnstown and in 1913 was graduated from Jefferson Medical College.
